Mothers' role as a woman who nourishes the family has been defined and redefined throughout time as both a privilege and an obligation to the ones she loves and to herself. This Sunday, let us pay tribute to her irreplaceable and indispensable part in shaping the family.
Bring breakfast in bed
Bring her favorite sandwich and sliced fruits. Ask your father and siblings to join in-bring your own cereal bowls and choco cups.

Bring her to the spa
Accompany her to a facial, massage or a simple manicure-pedicure session. It'll be a perfect time for you two to bond and share thoughts and secrets. Suggest to her latest trends and colors so she'll look hipper and younger.

Have a movie marathon
Rent some feel-good romantic comedy flicks that your mom would love, or check out DVD of her favorite actor/actress. Don't forget the popcorn and lemonade.

Cook your mom's favorite dish
I'm sure she'll be surprised that you can prepare what she has been preparing for you. What's even better is that it is her favorite dish. Ask your siblings or father to go with you to the market to get the ingredients, make sure your mom is busy so she won't see what you have bought. Prepare the dish while she's in a nap or taking a shower or gardening.

Clean the house
Mothers, especially the homemakers are great cleaners. They make sure that our house is clean and organized. This month, let us make her rest for a while and do the cleaning. Gather your siblings and grab your cleaning stuff and make the house as new. You can even re-paint faded walls or fences, repair loosen hooks, or re-arrange the furniture for a new look and feel.

Give her flowers
Women love flowers so your mom will surely love it if she'll receive one this Sunday. Buy online or call the nearby flower shop and have the bouquet delivered to your house for an added surprise.

Make a scrapbook of her
Scan your family photos and her friends, and her activities inside and outside the home and put them in an old-fashioned scrapbook. If you have kept some souvenirs like movie tickets, diner bills etc., that your family have spent together, it will be good add-ons to your project. You can also ask other relatives to write down notes for her and arrange them on cute stationery.

Give her a hand-made mother's day card
If you can't find a scanner or don't have much time organizing a scrapbook, you can give her your hand-made mother's day greeting card. Write down your heartfelt thoughts about her, you can also share this with the rest of the family. Place it on her drawer of the side table so she can see it right after waking up.
