baby's playtime is learning time

Baby's learning capabilities can be enhanced through care-giving.  This means various learning activities for baby can be done during feeding time, changing diapers and even playtime.
Our cute and adorable baby Matthea has spent several weekends at home and we enjoyed not only playing with her but also feeding her, giving her a bath, changing her diaper and putting her to sleep.During diaper change or feeding her, we talk to her by reacting to her facial expressions such as when she smiles or pouts.  This will make her realize that we understand her.
While playing with her, she imitates our facial expressions too and that really give us joy.  When we smile back and cuddle her, we help her learn to trust others and feel good about her.  Babies also have their own language.  When she cries, we don't hesitate to reach out to her, we don't think that reaching out to her whenever she cries is spoiling her.  There is no such thing as spoiling a baby.  When she cries, this usually means she's hungry, her diaper needs to be changed or she wants to be cuddled. It could also mean she's in pain.  So don't hesitate to reach out to a baby.
Playing with objects and other people is also important way for babies to learn.  When baby is awake and alert,  we usually give her colorful toys and other materials that will encourage her to explore.  We can find out which of these toys or stuff she likes most judging from the amount of time she stays playing with the same thing.
Baby Matthea is able to sit up by herself already and we give her different toys she can grab, this will teach her shapes and size.  Don't worry if baby puts her toys in her mouth, it's normal, just make sure toys are clean and don't have sharp edges.
I am not yet a mother but having experiences baby-sitting my younger cousins and nieces and nephews, I already learned the basics of child care.  I only keep 2 important tips on baby care, that is SAFETY and COMFORT.
